FAQ / PRICING
Q:ARE THE SPHYNX HYPOALLERGENIC? WILL I HAVE ALLERGIES TO THE SPHYNX BREED?
A:No animal is "hypoallergenic," including the Sphynx. While the lack of coat does make the Sphynx more tolerable to people with allergies to cats, there is no guarantee that if you are an allergy sufferer you will be able to keep a Sphynx as a pet.

Q: HOW MUCH DOES A KITTEN COST?
A: Every breeder sets their own price. I charge $2200.00 for a pet kitten. I require a 200.00 deposit which is non refundable. $500 is due at 3-4 weeks old upon placement and the remaining balance of $1500 is due at 11 weeks old. My kittens are hand raised on a premium diet of high quality kibble and wet food. They are fully vaccinated, and double dewormed. They are spayed/neutered and microchipped before you receive them. They are fully vet checked for health, and come with a vet signed health passport. I make sure that their temperament is good for your needs.
ALL GOOD BREEDERS, ALTER THEIR KITTENS BEFORE PLACING. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS !
Q: IS THERE ANY SPECIAL MAINTENANCE WITH A SPHYNX?
A: The Sphynx is not a maintenance free cat. Due to the lack of coat, a Sphynx must be cleaned to keep the skin free of the naturally secreted oils that the coat on a normal coated cat absorbs. This can be done on a daily basis with a soft cloth and warm water or unscented wet wipes. Occasional bathing on an as needed basis is also done, but the more frequently a cat is fully bathed the higher the oil production from their skin will be. The very large ears, lacking hair to act as a filter for dust and dirt, also need to be cleaned regularly to avoid wax build-up. We recommend that you wipe your cats face and ears with cloth and water everyday or use baby wipes.
Q: DO YOU SHIP? HOW MUCH?
A: We do ship to the US and Canada. We use heated live cargo when needed with a trusted air line. We use United Live Animal Cargo out of Detroit Michigan. In Canada we use Air Canada.

Q: HOW ARE THEIR PERSONALITIES? DO THEY GET ALONG WITH CHILDREN AND OTHER PETS?
A: Personality and Sphynx go hand in paw! While the disposition of any cat is highly influenced by the way the kittens are raised, Sphynx are generally highly affectionate, sociable, and intelligent. They tend to get along well with other pets, including dogs, and are the ultimate lap and bed cats. Many of our kitten families come back for a second (or thrid or fourth) kitten. They do incredibly well in pairs or groups. Because of their inquisitive, alert nature, Sphynx often make wonderful show cats as well as pets. They love to play with any age children! My kittens are hand raised around my kids my dogs and my family.
Q: DO I HAVE TO KEEP MY HOUSE WARM? DO THEY HAVE TO WEAR A SWEATER?
A: You can dress them up if you want. They get cold just like we do. If you're cold they are too. If you have central air on and they get chilly, they will find a nice warm spot to curl up to. Your bed or arms are most preferred. Most house temperatures are just fine for the Sphynx.

Q: HOW DO I KNOW I HAVE A GOOD ETHICAL BREEDER?
A: You need to do your homework. Look at the reference page, all breeders should have references! Ask to speak to previous adopters. Can you reach out to them reliably at any time? Do they all to their kittens before sending them out? Do their kittens come with a health guarantee? Please see our preservation versus backyard breeder section for detailed information. Buying a kitten or cat should be a cozy fun feeling, your breeder should make you feel comfortable and secure while going through the process of adopting your new baby.
