Preservation breeder vs backyard breeder

💔BACKYARD BREEDER💔 (breeds solely for financial gain)
⭐PRESERVATION BREEDER⭐(Breeds for the love of the breed to assist in the betterment of the breed, health temperament etc...A preservation breeders mission is to preserve and promote the pedigreed breeds of cats and to enhance the well-being of ALL cats. Promotes education, responsible cat ownership and proper care whilst adhering to the Cat Fancier Association (CFA) Code of Ethics and Breeder Standards

💔 They don’t screen potential buyers⭐ Any responsible breeder will want to know what kind of home their kittens are going to and whether they will be well taken care of emotionally, physically and financially.

💔May or may not be registered(Good breeders are always registered registered breeders are not always good. Unregistered is always a red flag)⭐Cats are registered and come with pedigree paperwork (preservation breeders will never be unregistered)
💔They don’t do the required genetic tests, do HCM scans or DNA test adults.(It's very expensive, they most likely aren't doing it)⭐Responsible breeders test for most, if not all, of the most common genetic defects that are prevalent in the breed HCM scanning and DNA testing on all adults!(One of the main goals for the Sphynx breed is to eliminate HCM from the lines)
💔There are few or no veterinary records(All kittens should have received their first de-wormers, and shots between 6–8 weeks of age.⭐Vet cleared and UTD on vaccines(Our kittens get all scheduled vet visits before coming to you. We provide a current health certificate, all vet records.
💔They offer no to minimal medical securitycontracts between the breeder and buyer⭐Health guarantee on kittens (Because we breed for health and good genetics first and foremost)
💔Sends kitten home intact(To save money and pass responsibility onto owners)⭐ Sends kittens home spayed/neutered (To prevent cancer, pyometra, urine marking, aggression, and much much more!!!)
💔Sends kitten home as early as 5 weeks(When they are able to eat solid food, again to save money and maximize profits)⭐Kitten minimum 12 weeks old when going home (For best mental and physical well-being and socialization of kitten)
💔 Minimal to No contact after finalized sale⭐Remains in contact with client after adoption for lifetime of cat(We love our kittens and love seeing them grow up and are always here to help guide families with any questions that arise)
💔 They don’t offer lifetime return policies(Just like with health guarantees, once the kitten leaves their possession, they typically abandon responsibility for it) ⭐ Preservation breeders typically ask that buyers return their kittens if they find themselves in extenuating circumstances and are no longer able to provide the necessary care. We also provide health guarantees.
